Sheffield ‘I Can’ Therapy Centre
Valley Leisure Ltd have teamed up with Sheffield Neuro Physiotherapy in a unique collaboration to bring the ‘I Can’ Therapy Centre concept to the city of Sheffield for the benefit of residents.
Sheffield Neuro Physiotherapy, owned by Emma Richards provides a private specialist Neurological Physiotherapy treatment and advice service to patients and carers with a range of Neurological conditions.
Through the provision of bespoke, 1:1 client centred, home based or clinic based treatment sessions, clients are supported to achieve their own personalised goals reflective of their independent lifestyles and aspirations.
Together, Valley Leisure Ltd in collaboration with Sheffield Neuro Physiotherapy hope to enable older, disabled, inactive or deconditioned people or those living and managing a long-term health condition to ‘move more and feel better’.
Through the provision of a specially adapted power assisted exercise facility coupled with a Physiotherapy treatment service, Emma and her colleague, Rachel Young – the originator of bringing ‘I Can’ to Sheffield; the new centre will support and enable users to live as well as possible, as independently as possible for as long as possible.

‘I Can’ Activity Buddy
The I Can Therapy Centre is an exciting new venture in Sheffield, operated by independent charity Valley Leisure Ltd in collaboration with Sheffield Neuro Physiotherapy, aiming to provide a specialist exercise rehabilitation service for those looking to move more and feel better to enable people to live as independently as possible, as well as possible, for as long as possible.
‘I Can’ Activity Buddy’s support users by creating a warm, friendly and welcoming environment and providing encouragement and guidance to users of the power assisted exercise equipment.
Uniform and full training will be provided. A small team of paid staff including a Centre Manager, Exercise Circuit Coordinator, Physiotherapist and Community Health Development Manager will support all ‘I Can’ Activity Buddy’s in their role.
‘I Can’ Activity Buddies are needed for regular periods during the opening hours of the Therapy Centre.
